My
name is Bryan Borst, I am a web professional living in Brooklyn NY. I
have been working professionally with the web and other interactive
media since 2000.
We created a Content Management Application (CMA) for Fuse. My job was to code and re-code site
modules called Demandlets, using AJAX, XML, JavaScript, Prototype and script.aculo.us. Comments, Downloads, User Comments, TV Schedule,
On Tonight, Blog Archives and Tag Clouds were the Demandlets I that worked on.
BBC America wanted a new ecomerce shopping cart that complimented their newly redesigned site.
I was hired toward the end of this project, and had to learn ajax to
meet the needs of this exciting project. My main responsibility was for
the "My Account" section of this site. I also did shipping address
and the credit card validation. While testing correct data, we noticed
that the products in the cart were making the cookie size to large for IE
to handle. Programming a Persistent Storage Mechanism using AJAX and JSON rectified that issue.
This project is not optimized for the web, as it was intended for CD-ROM use.
The Drug Free America Foundation needed an interactive CDROM for their
"truecompassion" campaign. The project uses ActionScript2 for all major
animations and transitions. Swift was used for the letters animations
in quote.
Client wanted a redesign for Lights on Tampa 2009. The event will take place the same time Tampa is to hold Super Bowl XLIII.
Lights On Tampa is a new biennial program that emerged from a
public/private partnership between regional businesses, volunteers, and
art supporters, and the City of Tampa's Public Art Program Committee.
The client wanted a full Flash redesign to his existing site. I coded the
site using ActionScript2 for transitions, animation, and to play multi-media formats.
The client acquired ownership of all domains with the name "Hulk Hogan",
and needed a temporary site up quickly.
HulkHogan.com suffered a significant drop in SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages),
due to lack of content from the domain change. I preformed best-practice SEO
techniques to help with SERPS.
I also built ASFunctions in Flash using ActionScript2, to communicate with
JavaScript for the full screen video.
The
Dupont Registry was undergoing a site redesign, and wanted to add a
"Featured Car of the Month" video section on the homepage. I created
Flash video player that could play 6 videos. I coded the player using
ActionScript2 so the user could skip to different videos or play them
from start to finish.
During my time with PrepLogic, I pushed to give the site a more Web2.0
look and feel. I created elements to streamline usability by utilizing layers
and div tags, controlled by CSS and JavaScript. I also optimized the corporate
site for Search Engine Marketing by employing Google Analytics and applying SEO
practices and techniques.
My day-to-day tasks and activities included updating and maintaining the website
using ASP VB Script and SQL. I would build and execute daily tactical e-mail
campaigns with validating landing pages, based on the sales of the day.
I would also create all final video demos, podcasts and samples for all video
products from raw video footage using After Effects and Flash Video Encoder.
Build and maintain intranet/web utilities to manage the e-commerce shopping
cart, automate sales, administer affiliate programs, view statistics and manage
all products using ASP VB Script and SQL.
This
Flash application project was to display dynamic (.FLV) video content
in a video gallery. The application has a validating form and updates a
SQL database with client input, using ASP VB Script and ActionScript 2.0
I updated and maintained CramSession's content and code, using ASP VB
Script and SQL. I built and executed e-mail campaigns with validating
landing pages for CramSession and 3rd party advertisers. I managed 3rd
party advertisers suppression files using SLQ. I also maintain and
manage banner changes/updates using SpinBox and Flash for such clients
as: ModemMedia.com,
DoubleClick.com,
Monster.com and
Dice.com
